Bournemouth Carlton Hotel

About us

Perched on Bournemouth's famous East Cliff, Bournemouth Carlton Hotel offers dramatic views across the bay. Built in the Victorian era, the hotel has a rich history and has attracted some illustrious guests over the years, including Harold Macmillan, Bobby Moore and General Eisenhower, who debated D-Day landing plans with Field Marshal Montgomery over lunch at the hotel during World War Two. Meander down the path from the clifftop and you'll be basking on the golden sands in no time, while a 15-minute walk along the seafront takes you to the Oceanarium and Bournemouth Pier. Heading out of town, wander among the flowerbeds at Boscombe Chine Gardens or dig for fossils along the Jurassic Coast.

Our business guests are within walking distance of Bournemouth International Centre for conferences and exhibitions, and we deliver fantastic lunch and afternoon tea stops for tour groups. When you're not out and about, there's plenty to keep you occupied in the hotel itself. Our outdoor pool is surrounded by sun loungers and palm trees, giving it a distinctly tropical feel, and you can enjoy a sizzling summer feast from our pizza ovens and barbecues. Indoors, there's a gym, heated swimming pool and sauna. Many of our 76 guest rooms have views across the bay, and some also feature a private balcony for gazing out to sea. We have spacious family rooms and luxury suites for those who really want to push the boat out. Alternatively, you can make yourself at home in one of our self-catering apartments with private patios.
